| Collies are generally a very healthy breed of dog. They don't have any more or less health problems than other breeds. Conscientious breeders are working hard to eliminate those disorders that do affect our breeds. Just this April 2008, Cornell University announced that the gene for PRA has been discovered, therefore, making a DNA test available to breeders in the near future. I will post a link to the test, as soon as it is available for sale. All of our Silverado Collies will be tested just so we have it "in writing" that they are PRA/Clear. I have kept the Health Pages as they were originally. I will be adding more information to the site, in the next few weeks, so check back and watch our puppies grow, and read see what has been added. |
