| Microphthalia occurs when one or both eyes are smaller than normal. The third eye lid (haw), may appear larger because of this. The eye looks as if it is sunken in the skull. This condition varies in severity. There is no treatment and usually no problems, though vision may be restricted. Blindness can occur. This is a complex hereitary defect that should be avoided in a breeding program. |
